US Tibet Committee: Current Actions & Campaigns

Updated 4/11/03

UPCOMING EVENTS

Monday, April 14th, is Amnesty International's annual "Get on the Bus!" protest. The day is full of events, and concludes with a protest at the Chinese Consulate from 4:40 - 5:20 pm. Feel free to attend any or all of the events. Please see the schedule below for full details. This is a great way to meet other protestors from up and down the east coast, and to learn more about Tibet and other human rights issues.

Later that night, the Ven. Palden Gyatso, political prisoner for 33 years inside Chinese-occupied Tibet, will be speaking at Columbia's Law School. He has been touring the country giving a detailed account of life inside Chinese prisons, and his moving testimony is just one of the many reasons why we are all fighting so hard to free Tibet.

WHEN: Monday, April 14, 6:00 - 7:30pm, to be followed by a wine and cheese reception
WHERE: Warren Hall, Columbia Law School
1125 Amsterdam Ave at 115th Street
(Subway: A,C,B,D,1,9 to 116th St.)

CONTACT: Nima Taylor, nrt2001@columbia.edu

Tuesday night, April 15th, our very own Board member and acclaimed photographer Sonam Zoksang will be giving a slide show on Tibet at NYU's Thompson Center.
